WHile living in County Tyrone I worked as an Artist creating paintings and Murals for pubs and clubs.

I'm here in Detroit and have been to a few so called irish Pubs...and thought what a grand Idea to it would be to find a Place to put a Mural as thats what I'm good at..
I had contacted one place here and I couldn't even get through to the owners,sent off Idaes almost a week ago..no responce...

Our group from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital/Pontiac were the REALLY LOUD group of ladies who showed up with MANY friends week after week (we usually had the front tables). I had a few great birthday parties there, too. Before I moved to New Jersey in 1997, the crew had a great sending off for me. We filled the upstairs and, thanks to video and photos, I have wonderful memories. I think Billy and Jerry will remember Susan, Dawn, Sarah and Linda fondly (at least I hope so!). When I'm in town I always look forward to seeing my home away from home, away from home! Thanks for the greatest times!!!!!

Looking @ the picture on the site, and seeing the window I sat by next to someone special. What a beautiful summer day! Watching all the Tigers fans flood the street and stream into the pub...what a perfect Detroit moment alongside a good friend, a good pint, and good Irish Whiskey. Can't wait to come back home. I bought a black Old Shillelagh womens sleeveless shirt that day. Problem is I need a new one. I've worn it out it almost looks dark brown. It's sooo comfortable! Keep up the good work. Visited Chicago & Detroit early November and got to say that visiting your pub was best night out I had on the whole trip!! Well, I don't know if Michael is still in the band but if you see this "Hi MIKE!!" I used to frequency the Old Shillelagh almost every weekend nearly 10 years ago now - how time flies!! I've since moved to DC and haven't been back to Detroit in too long. I was feeling nostalgic, found the website - I was overjoyed to see Black Mist is still pleasing the masses in Detroit. I streamed some of the songs sang along and drank a pint (or two) - brought back so many good memories. I'll be back in town in Sept for Michigan football!!! Hi Barbara, don't know if you remember me but I worked for you (and Richard) for nearly two years back in 1998/9. I was the mad redhead from the North of Ireland, who was on the Radio on St Patricks day from your pub, I think it was WOMC. If you can remeber one of our customers asked Richard could I be excused from behind the bar so that he could treat me to a ride in his Limo for half an hour for the wonderful treatment he'd had on St Patricks day. I hope these little tidbits might help you remember me if they do please e-mail me I'd love to hear from you!

Hey Guys! I went to the Old Shillelagh for the first time after my 21st Birthday(that was a few years ago) and it is by far the best bar ever!! I plan to celebrate my bachelorette party there this Aug.27th. I brought a friend from out of town there last week and he LOVED the place. We bought loads of gear and had some great drinks. Keep it up!! This bar is is the BEST of Detroit. :) CHEERS!
